{Sigh} Life is soooo very bittersweet as we kno! But yesterday marked my most bittersweet moment of my summer! I worked with a summer program for the City of Elizabeth named S.O.A.R. nd even though it was only for a couple of weeks I got really attached to the kids nd the wonderful staff!! I think what really saddens me is not my early departure from the kidds but the fact that those little innocent faces are going to grow nd go through what I nd what most teens in inner city neighborhoods go through nd they don't even have a clue about what is going to hit them. I guess u can say that I am young nd the people who I was in these type of programs with when I was even younger;either are dead, gave life to someone else, took someones life, or is even going to be in jail for the rest of their lives {nd these are just people ages 18-22!}. So working at this program meant a lot to me! Even if I just influenced that child's life for the day, I feel better. But what I am really tryna get at is, the youth is our future {nd to put it in Tupac's lamest terms "say there ain't no hope for the youth, then the truth is it ain't no hope for the future". Everyone needs to take part in bettering our youth b/c they are the ones who matter the most!!! I don't believe that there is a certain age for the perfect mother but I do kno that education is key not only for a child but for the parent too! & if teens are going to be the parents they need the proper education! I could go on nd on about this topic but I'd rather not right now. I'd rather leave on a good note like how pretty the smiles are on these kidds nd happy they are!
